Most of my trees are still real small. This year I will have around a dozen Hardy Chicago, 7 Sweet George and a little over a dozen LSU Improved Celeste. Next year I'm sure will be much sweeter... or figgier any way. Only my 2 and 3 year old trees are fruiting this year, next year all have another 30 or so in their second year so perhaps a better "HAUL" then!!!!Scott - Colorado Springs, CO - Zone 4/5 (Depending on the year) - Elevation 6266ft

I look forward to my "haul" this year... last year I got maybe 5 dozen figs, mostly Chicago Hardy from 1st year trees. The way my trees look this year I expect several hundred. I sure hope the birds don't figure out how good they are!Phil

Scott my BIL is allergic to the sap even the little that's left in a ripe fig. He can't even eat the preserves. The tree was useless to him and his family. So chop chop. Maybe I can find another source for this year.

Gene I have a nice Celeste tree in 45 gal pot I guess its about 6' tall. It's yours if you want it. Just need to figure out how to get it too you. Currently it has figs on it. I can't say if it is a great Celeste but it has history that I can trace back to the late 1800's. This is the first year it had figs and seems to have a decent crop. This Winter we could bare root it and it should travel well. This tree's heritage traces back to TJ Testman's family. Should be a really good tree.

I can't imagine. Yet there are trees here that I consider useless. There they are week and invasive, and I will get rid of one any change I get.
But not a fruit tree......Scott - Colorado Springs, CO - Zone 4/5 (Depending on the year) - Elevation 6266ft

The tree is probably over 100 years old and about 30 ft across and tall it's loaded with thousands of figs. Birds eat plenty but there is plenty still available. It has been plenty hot but it has been raining often and we haven't noticed any drop.Randall - Flomaton, Al. zone 8. https://www.youtube.com/c/FlomatonFamous

Sounds like an incredible tree, it is a shame they can't grow like that here.

I was in gulf breeze a few years back, before I contracted OFCV (Obsessive Fig Collection Virus). If only I knew then what I know now.
-
Haha. Funny I have been diagnosed with the something. When I was deployed I would always take notice of the fig trees in Egypt and all across Europe. If I would have contracted the disorder back then maybe I would have discovered a treatment. I've been to Palma a few times and would have taken a trip to the Pons orchard
