  • Unk Afghanistan 2015 Main

This big boy is the first main crop of my season. This is Unk Afghanistan that weighed
in at 2.72 oz or 77.3 g. It is a four year old tree that was moved from a 10 gal pot
to in ground this spring. It has really responded with lots of good figs to follow. The
sweet melon like flavor was very refreshing with the slightest hint of fig. Only very little
seed crunch. For a "Non Martin" fig I will give it an 8.5 on a 1-10 scale.

Mike, you are a very patient man all your figs are fully ripened. You are the Paul Masson/Orson Welles of Fig for those younger folks they had a 70's Marketing campaign of "We will sell no wine before its time."

True that Phil. Mike has a lot of patience when it comes to picking figs and thank God for that cause we get to enjoy those nice pictures. In my case the fig is gone the moment I feel it to see if its ripe. Or on the way to get its picture taken lol.
Nice fig mike . Did it get a head start at the greenhouse before you planted it in ground? The nearest think to ripe I have ( main crop) is potted PH and LSU purple and at least three weeks away ! This could be a nice variety to grow along or as an alternative to varieties with brebas.

Phil, as you know patience is a virtue.

Chris, no Green house just early shuffle while still in pot. Are you going to LSU?
