I have tis tree 3 season. Tis first season it did not have to be cut to soil because of freeze. So I still not see any fig. Is weird because I have other fig 4 years in ground and even when I had to cut to ground level from freeze the new growth still make fig. So I do not know what is wrong with blanco.

The Long Yellow has humongous leaves but not fingered. You may think it is a palm tree

A few of my trees have large leaves. The lobed ones look like plates (perfect for serving figs whenever they ripen?).

Lyndhurst White, ~14 inches Lyndhurst White leaf, approaching 14 inches

Hollier, ~12 inches Hollier leaves, right around 12 inches across.

RdB, ~12 inches Ronde de Bordeaux leaf, approximately 12 inches across.

With all the lightning activity in the midwest and south this year I wouldn't be surprised to see alot of giant leaves.....that electricity creates a fair dose of nitrogen in the rain falling around it...nice green growth...healthy looking plants

Mike...try feeding your "figgy less" tree a little hydroponic blooming nutrient...the higher phosphate level will assist in setting fruit and bloom....a little yucca and B-1 will help too.

                        http://generalhydroponics.com/site/i...es/nova_bloom/

I would use 5 ml/gal or less flora nova bloom.....add 1-2 ml/gal yucca or b-1 vitamin mix available at any home depot/lowes/walmart

the aim is to convince the tree that it wants to get ready to bloom or fruit

the other option is something an elderly Italian lady taught me many years ago....you beat up the trunk with a baseball bat, all the time yelling at it in Italian....fits....I actually saw a plum tree with a massive fruiting after one of these episodes....who woulda knew

                          Hooks,

You are 100% correct with beating the tree with a bat! Works for humans too! I'm perfect example. My father used the old whippin stick on my ass for years and I'm still growing ahah ahah!!!

My little Zidi's leaves aren't that big yet. This newly rooted cutting is only a few months old but the leaves are already as big as its pot.

I've got 2 zidi cuttings going and they're already throwing roots out the pot...it would be a good candidate for grafting rootstock
