    Figs for thought

    I picked these for a friend. Finally I got to some before the birds.

    Wow! Nice looking figs. I'm eagerly anticipating a few brebas on my Desert King. All my other ones are still bright green.

    Celeste? Or a variety?

      Did you ever figure out what type of fig that tree was by the stop light? Celeste? Brown Turkey?

          I can't wait for mine. I haven't got many in the last 2 years. This year I put a lot in the greenhouse but I don't think I will get that many, wow they look good. OTOH my apple crop will be the best I ever had

            My apple trees are very happy this summer too. My Asian pears are going wild! I think it's all the rain we've been getting.

              I suppose an Italian Temper in a fig orchard could be a problem...LOL

            beautiful Hershell...jam is always a project this time of the year....I have reservations at about 6 individuals yards for Mission figs for jam....there is never enough jam....

              Ross, jam is enjoyed by many unfortunately the extra sugar makes it off limits for me. I even make cane syrup but make it is it.

              Hershell. The forth of July I had fresh fig preserves on hot biscuit with your cane syrup. OMG! It was pure heaven!

              A real testiment to commitment Hershell....making cane surup and not being able to consume it....

              there will come a way....keep your eyes open...there will come a way...

              We live in a medical transition zone....and things are changing rapidly...really unbelievable things....

              Good gads, Hershell! I'm pretty sure I'm drooling on the paperwork on my desk after seeing those gorgeous figs. One of these days/years I hope I can post a photo like yours.

                How old/large was that tree? I would kill to have that many figs to spare!
