  • Negretta 2015 Main

This is another three year old tree that was placed in ground in May 2015 and
the first fruit I have tasted from it. This tree was courteous of a forum member
in VA and I want to thank him again. The flavor, I can not describe it but it is
wonderful. The texture was jammy and no seed crunch. I give this fig a 9 on
a 1-10 and I sure hope it can survive the winters here. An excellent variety to have.

    Hi newnandawg.
Great looking fig. I have a Negretta and I can't wait to taste some, maybe next year? Enjoy.

            Looks nice.
I had received one from an old friend (Martin).
It grew well and I sent a nice air layer to another friend.
Mine didn't make it through the winter two years ago and the friend sent me an air layer from the one I sent. Mine came back so at the time I had two. They both didn't make it this past winter. Not meant for me I guess.

Best of luck with yours, Mike.
            Martin spoke highly of it.

Very interesting Mike. Unusual to see a dark fig with golden pulp, no?

Grosse Grise De Notre Dame, Colar and Noire De Carombe are like that too.
Colar was a good tasting fig as well as the NDC.

Also LSU Purple, another great tasting dark fig with honey like interior.
