  • Going to Ocracoke island to find fig trees

    I am on Ocracoke island now,hopefully I will find the fig trees.

      Are you getting there by boat? Looks fantastic, hope you find a gem or two. Watch out for sharks!!! LOL

        Only way to get there is by ferry. One of my favorite places on the planet.

        It cost $30.00 round trip to ride ferry to carry you and your car or truck to the island.
        Lot cheaper than buying gas for boat,having to pay dockage fee,renting transportation
        on the island.

        I was born in North Carolina and have many beach memories. Besides figs you may see the wild ponies also. It is lovely there. Envy abundant right now.

          GPS the fig locations for those of us wanting to follow in your footsteps!

          I love Ocracoke - have good memories of vacationing there with my wife as almost newlyweds MANY years ago. Returning is on the 'to do list'

              Only fig tree I got a picture from.I did see another fig tree that is loaded with figs.I did not have time to get a picture of the tree.

                    They need some TLC and large dose of fertilizer.

                      Getting my fig notes in order and came across this article. The gentleman referenced (Chester Lynn) is the owner of Annabelle's Antiques and is the gentleman I got my figs from.
