  • Hunt 2015 Main

First fig from another third year tree that was placed in ground April 2015. It
has been slow in growth and production.

This fig did not have a lot of flavor and was on the honey side. The texture was firm and
the skin was a pleasant chewy type with its on flavor and a little sweeter that the pulp.
It does not remind me of tasting the Hunt at LSU three weeks ago.
    We gave it about a 5 on a 1-10.

What can be done to improve flavor? Is there something missing in the soil?

Scott, probably more time. It is a young tree that had a hard time getting going.
It doesnt get the maximum amount of sunlight, although some other varieties have
proven to produce good tasting figs in less than optimum conditions. I give all my
trees in pots and in ground the same program of fertilization and micro-nutrients.
