  • Noire de Caromb 2015 Main

This is a fourth year tree moved in ground in April 2015. The tree had
pretty good production last year in a fifteen gallon pot.

This fig was pretty bland with not much flavor or sweetness. Similiar
to what is thought to be the same fig as Kathleens Black. Comparing my
second year Kathleens Black to this tree, apples and oranges. They
do not look a like or taste the same. This fig was a 6 on a 1-10

Good morning Mike! Nice Honey interior! Looks a lot like the figs I got at the farmers market the other day. Do you have any leaf pics?

What are the differences that you see between this fig and your KB?

        Chris, leaves later.

Ed, taking into consideration the two year difference in age, the figs are much smaller
on this four year old tree in a pot vs the two year old tree in ground. The shape of the
KB is much more elongated. The ripened skin on this fig is not nearly as smooth
        and shiny.

Hi Mike, all of the Noire de Caromb figs I've seen had a red interior. Are you sure that's NdC?

Hi Gary, I cant guarantee anything about any of my figs but to be able to say
this fig is the same as Kathleens Black, the interior would have to be pink
to amber in color as this French website states http://www.galgoni.com/ENG/Fotos_Maxi/016.htm

Here is an additional pic on F4F with the amber interior http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox....mb-pic-6509269

Are you sure its not Noire de Caromb?

Hey Mike, mine hasn't had any ripe fruit yet, I was surprised to find out that it has a honey colored interior. I've been expecting it to be pink. Thanks for setting me straight.

Hmm, it looks like it can be a good fig. I've been holding off getting this one since I have KB, but I might try to get this one after all.

Mike, these are NdC we sampled in Caromb earlier this month. They were brebas.
