Wow, those are really well done! I'm too old school for tatoos but if I were going to get one it would probably be that.

I've been looking for a new tattoo idea! Now who wants to donate to the cause? Probably $3-400 around here for a decent size like those.

Offer mistake. Looked great 5 year ago a do Italian no Egyptian ! But was impulse cover up. Now worst

Second was one I drew as child sun. Make into tattoo.

I need to think about it for awhile. I guess I am old school as well, and never thought I would consider one. If I did I would have my daughter draw one up she is a accomplished artist as I agree I would want unique. I just like the look of these 2. Mine would have to smaller, but similar. The needle thought does not bother me, but I let my kids know I thought it was stupid when then got theirs.

I personally like the ones Phil originally posted because they are likely based on old botanical prints. I don't think they need to be made original in that regard. But I have a love for botanical/woodcut prints, so my opinion may differ from others.

Phil, maybe just a leaf with a cut fig on top? JD's photos come to mind as great source material, he takes some fantastic shots. The watercolors that Hollybrook Orchards uses on their plants are nice too: http://036820a.netsolhost.com/figvarieties.html

Very nice Phil. Once old school always old school brother. You should tattoo those babies on a bunch of nice Tee shirts and wear them proudly whenever you feel like it. At least you have the option of taking them off ( removing them ) at will. "Permanent "is a very big commitment and almost a one way street. Best of luck with whatever you chose to do!

If you're going to do it use colored ink and do a Galicia Negra or something similarly high value. Be sure to show a cut open view!

Depend where you put it as well for size. Once you size it up on the area go a little bigger. You'll thank me later.

I wanted to do fig tree on my leg with roots as deceased family and figs on tree as current family. Kids. Wife. Papa. Ect.

Guys don't do the tattoo. Buy a beautiful print instead. Just think when you are older your plump ripe fruit and plush leaves will be wrinkly and crinkly. Seen some scary ole tattoos down here in Florida too much exposed skin

Yes Permanent is a very big commitment so it will not be any Brown Turkey on my arm. It might be the only way I ever manage a Galicia Negra so that's a good idea. Actually I like the Botanical prints, just maybe sized down from those I posted and pretty basic in color. I don't want that open cut fig looking like a bullet wound. wrinkly and crinkly? That's how I like my figs. Seeing how it is permanent I don't want to be stuck with a picked a day early fig for eternity.
