We have a long season here in SoCal, so all the figs that can ripen probably will ripen. It's a mature, well trained tree with horizontal growth from a local nursery, so it doesn't need a lot of new growth. I just wonder if all the crowded little figs can possibly ripen.

    Thinning out fruit?

My Pete's Honey is making a lot of little figs on the tips of its branches. Should I thin the figs out like I do with apricots and nectarines? It's an older tree in a fifteen gallon pot with a big root growing out the bottom. I don't know if it can ripen all the little figs emerging at the tips.
