This Longue d' Aout deserves the spotlight

I had several of these last year but this is the first one of 2015. This one came from my 5 gallon SIP. HUGE fig with lots of sweet rich figgy flavors. What I love so much about this fig is how meaty it is. One of these equals 3-4 average sized figs! So delicious and will always have a home in my yard. Enjoy the pics! The small fig is Gino Black.

Thanks for sharing the great photos and info.
I originally thought only the brebas were elongated.
I'm currently growing the Cucumber cultivar (possible alias) and the main crop figs have that elongated shape.

Thanks, everyone. My kids go crazy when I bring a ripe fig into the house. I'm thankful they can enjoy this fruit for as long as I'm around, and hopefully after I'm gone too.

Do your photos show what a typical main-crop looks like? How long have you had a tree in the ground? Any hardiness problems yet? This variety looks like a very nice fig.

Thanks, Frank. This was from my 5 gallon SIP. I think this may be a breba. The fig was at the very tip of last year's growth. The transition of old/new branch was extremely tight and I didn't take note at the beginning of the season.
Main crop isn't as elongated and slightly smaller (still a monster fig).
My ground tree is on its 3rd year. It dies back every year without protection, but comes back with over 6' growth and plenty of figs. More figs this year than last.
All my ground trees are unprotected and die back every year but always come back strong.
