This tree was gifted to me in 2013 by a very generous forum member. Thanks again.
It is in a 10 gal pot and will probably go in ground next spring.

This is the first fig for me (birds got the first two) and was not very sweet and the
flavor was also lacking. If anything, the flavor is leaning toward honey at this point.
We gave it an 5 on a 1-10.

There is such variability from year to year, Mike. The size, color, taste of this (and most figs, I would say) is so dependent on the amount of heat, humidity, rain, barometric pressure and the tides of the moon, I don't know whats up or down anymore.

Frank, I certainly agree with that and I realize that this one will change for
the better over time. I always post what the first fig of a variety is like just for
a base line. Later in the year or the next year I can have a comparison for
taste improvement etc.

As I learned last year you have to let it hang on as long as possible. The exterior should be all dark...shrivelled a bit...and have dripped honey for a week. John Parav has posted some pics of his when perfectly ripe. I do like it for its size and taste.
