My son saw some interesting beetle activity while eating ice cream at a local farm yesterday. What do you call these beetles? Green June bugs? Fig beetles?

Those don't look like the Japanese beetles around here. Coloration, size, and shape don't look consistent with the Japanese beetles I've seen. Pete's suggestion of fig eater beetle looks right to me.Johnny

Fair enough. Took a second look at the pic to determine size and those are rather large. Coloration is almost identical to the Japanese beetles around here, though.Bryant...Franklin County, VA...Zone 7a. Wish List: a 32 hour day....more sleep
