I put the Atreano into a ~ 15 gallon container this year and it is really producing the figs. One thing about this variety is that it seems to ripen all its figs over a very short period of time and then it is done for the year. This one has a sweet flavor with honey and maybe caramel notes. I have also been picking an occasional Lebanese Red and Bari. Both were rich and complex but the Lebanese Red had a slight edge over Bari tonight, probably because the Bari could have used another day.

Looks good, Steve. Was Atreano one of your earliest figs this year?Tony WV 6b

I'm looking forward to the Atreano. The airlayers that I got from you started taking off at the start of August.. well, with the exception of LdA. Seems like the bugger refuses to put on any new growth. Fortunately it doesn't seem to be going downhill either.
Nice haul, Steve ;DAlma from Maryland 7b

Thanks for the comments all. Tony, Atreano was one of the earliest. I got my first fig about 10 days ago I think. Surprising, since it is a relatively large fig. Alma, good luck with the plants. Did you up-pot the LdA? I received a plant from a generous forum member this past Spring and it arrived very healthy. A week or two after I received it I up-potted it and it seemed like it took forever to start growing again. Sometimes they do that but eventually they will start growing.Steve
