The fifth annual event is, by tradition, an organic one intended for fig lovers to get to know one another and exchange fig thoughts, possibly a dish or two.

Never fails, I'll be in the area a couple days later.

I'm sure it will be a great event.

It's definitely worth going if you have time. We had a blast and would gladly go back if it weren't on a weekday. With our jobs it's hard to get off.

My wife is famous. She's in a white jacket in the second picture with some stranger. I'm in the far left of the picture with my back to the camera.

If anyone is interested, I will be selling a Negronne and a Green Ischia at the figfest, nice plants.

I have a question (don't I always?? Lol😁).. Is the Green Ischia the same as the Strawberry Verte?? It seems like the names are sometimes used interchangeably, but I also thought I read somewhere that they are different? Just wondering I do have a SV & 2 VdB's, but I may be interested in buying one from Ya.. If my husband doesn't have a stroke on me for wanting yet ANOTHER fig tree that is.. Hehe.. Ahh he just doesn't get it lol! Anyway I'm going to try my best to come to the Staten Island Fig Fest.. Looks like it's going to be a blast! I actually grew up very close to Staten Island.. Just over the bridge in Jersey.

Jamie, they are similar but different. The fruit are longer and smaller on GI.

I wish I could go but it's on a Tuesday, and I work out on long island... I'll never make it there in time.

I'm passing through the area, I will try hard to make it, no promises.

                      Sounds like a blast!
