This third year tree was placed in ground April 2014. It died to the ground
and is now about six feet tall.

This fig was not nearly as good as last year. It was sweet and a little on
the watery side after nearly 3 inches of rain last week. The honey flavor
was not as pronounced either. The first ripe fig last year was on July 27th
which is an indication of the set back from the winter kill. I gave this
fig a 6 on a 1-10.

Mike maybe the flavor will tighten up some now if you have anymore on the tree and if the rain holds off for a few more days.

Better for now. More surgery next month then more recovery time.

Hey Mike, do you winterize your tree? Just curious....

Dennis, other than 2-6 inches of pine straw they are on their own. I have
decided that all my in ground trees will have to be producers and survivors.
I would like to get down to about 10-15 20 gal pots and the other 100
in the ground. How about you. Winterize ?
