Do anyone known when tis fig is ripe to eat? On web I see bright green skin deep red inside. I have 3 large fig all bright green with red eye. One start to darken. Are they ready? I not want pick too early...Zone 5 Chicago IL Wish list:

I see, mine go from sticking straight out to drooping down then start to color and wrinkle (I've had no ripe green figs yet).

She should start to soften yes. Will differ some by cultivar, after a testing with a few you know how you like them. I saw described the other day like a marshmallow, that would be right with me but my wife would not like that texture.
