    Gary, would you consider doing a seed float test that would confirm pollination or not? I'm willing to give my tree another year or so if I really have a shot at ripe figs like that rather than the dropped figs I have experienced so far

    Thanks for the post. The 2 figs I had tasted very good also, although I had a wasp help so no dropped figs...
    Maybe this variety behaves similar to a Pastilliere ?

    Unknown called Sultani

    I am posting this just in case there are members here who have gotten the fig called 'Sultani' from a former, SoCal member of f4f forum. There has been much discussion as to whether this fig is a common, or needs pollination. I have one in a 15 gallon pot, 2 years old, and I picked a ripe fig from it today. I do not have the wasps here, as of yet. It was sweet, chewy, crunchy, berry flavors with a hint of citrus. Quite good. The tree has mostly dropped figs up to now, so I'm giving it another year to see if it can get productive. Just wanted to let you know, in case you are growing it.
