  • Alma 2015 Main

This tree was placed in ground April 2014 and died back to the
ground this past winter. It is now about 8-9 feet tall. It is about
six weeks later than last year producing its first fig. This is due
to the die back. It receives 8-10 hours of sun a day.

This fig is a very good light colored fig. It has taste of honey and
melon. The skin is a little chewy and there was not seed crunch.
We gave it an 8 on a 1-10. It may be another tree that doesn't
get to stay if it can not produce after freezing to the ground.

Wow, that looks amazing. Does your Alma ooze honey? So what is the main difference between this and a honey fig - is it the extra melon taste that comes with Alma?

I am bummed, I bought what was supposed to be an Alma from a nursery and it is definitely not Alma.
