  • My Update on cuttings....what 8 months can do

It is insane how fast figs can grow! I started buying cuttings at the end of January this year. In the next month or so from these cuttings i'm going to be able to taste Hardy Chicago, Pop's Purple, Black Madeira, Vista, Green Ischia, Salem Dark, Sweet George, Brown Turkey, Black jack, and a couple unknowns.

Nice job, I'm sure you have to work a lot harder to keep them from heat stroke

Thanks Guys! Its been a crazy summer....i went on vacation for the whole month of July and placed all the pots on the lawn so the sprinklers would water them...it wasn't enough.....average July temps 106-110F with 20% humidity. Half of the leaves fell off or got crispy and all of the figlets fell off due to stress......but all the plants survived! Now that they get water everyday they look a lot better and put out new figlets! It doesnt get cold until around Thanksgiving so hopefully the figs will ripen in time.

Crazy. This year most of my starts put on the least growth in the history of my fig growing. The upside is that they will be easy to store this winter.
Calvin, Wish list is to finish working on the new house, someday.
