I've got a few larger potted trees that are still ripening figs and will need protection from overnight frost and cold during the next 3 nights of forecasted frost. My younger 1 gallon trees will simply be protected from direct frost but will be left out in the cold to "harden off". Good luck.Pete R - Hudson Valley, NY - zone 5b -

Some trees don't want to go to sleep Don. Most of mine are still actively growing, yet as the temp continues to drop and the light fades... of course the reduction of water. They will indeed loose their leaves and enter their winter slumber. There is no need to remove any leaves.Scott - Colorado Springs, CO - Zone 4/5 (Depending on the year) - Elevation 6266ft
