  • Brooklyn White/Bronx White

Hello everyone. I hope your weekends went well--I spent mine building my fig collection!

To the matter at hand, are these the same? I know a read a thread on F4F stating that there's multiple figs of Brooklyn White, but couldn't find anything linking Bronx White to Brooklyn White or really much of anything at all on Bronx White.

    Thanks.

They are different fig varieties found in NYC although they both belong to the Honey Flavor Group, http://www.ourfigs.com/forum/figs-ho...-flavor-groups ...

The Bronx White is an Italian Honey Type (Lattarulla, White Marseilles), while the Brooklyn White is a completely different cultivar.

      Pete,

Thanks for the response. I actually spoke with JimmyChao, the guy selling the cuttings, and he told me that he discovered the variety himself. Looked a lot like Lattarulla like you said.

Look up the thread on F4F - he dug up a huge fig tree as a rescue project from destruction, replanted it at his place and sent cuttings all around.
