Same here, couldn't believe it! I put rooted cuttings into 1 gallon pots and set them out in March 2015, and got a surprising number of figs this summer/fall. Ripened so far: Unk Attilio Purple, Unk Italian Orangeburg Purple, Sal's Corleone, Petite Nigra, Violette de Bordeaux and Unk 7th St., (which I'm pretty sure is the same). Still have figs, but not ripened yet: Black Mission, Atreano, Unk Calderwood, Unk 7th St., Unk Italian Orangeburg Purple.

I'm pretty blown away too Kelby. I had no clue how fast figs can grow. My first year cuttings that gave me fruit this year are Salem dark, Sweet George, Ginos Black, Hardy Chicago, JH Adriatic, Black Jack and an Unknown Hybrid.....still waiting on Vista, Black Madeira, Green Ischia, Pops Purple, Black Bethlehem....they seem to be on the verge of ripening....hope time doesn't run out.... I wish i would have started this hobby 3 years ago...i'd be sitting eating figs all summer! Good luck this winter everybody....hope everything survives!

    Kelby,

You must have the magic touch. All my first years are between 3-5 feet but no ripe fruit.

I'm looking forward to fruit next year from all of them (MBVS, RDB, Adriatic JH, Scott's Black, Gino's Black, Atreano, LSU Purple, etc)

My Adriatic JH almost ripened, but no luck. Hopefully next year either the in ground or potted one will do something.

Congrats! I could have probably gotten fruits from Adriatic JH, MBVS, and Nero600 (maaaaybe RDB). All were started back in November. I'm not so skilled as to get them to 6'....I stunted them repeatedly with poor care...but they prevailed and put on a few feet of growth for me, and plenty of figlets that I pulled off. I expect fruit from all 4 next year (and those 4 would make for a killer spread!) The 3-4 month for figlet appearance would be about now, actually. Earlier for MBVS.

started a topic First year fruits

    First year fruits

It always amazes me when a plant that was a stick last winter can ripen fruit the very same year and grow to 6'. I was able to get ripe fruit from these first year plants: Atreano, Nexoe, Takoma Violet, and MBvs. All were good and can only get better!
Working...
