  • Anyone want 3x8 inch plastic bags to start cuttings?

These are used by some including Jon @F4F to start fig cuttings. http://figs4fun.com/Rooting_Bag_New_Style.html

They are a cheap option and you can write cutting name on the bag. They'd go from bag to one gal pot.

If anyone wants to try some I've got hundreds more than I need. I'll ship a hundred for free. More than that might cost a few bucks shipping or maybe we could trade something.

That's so nice of you! I saw those bags you are talking about on the f4ff site & was curious about trying them but never did order them. I would love to try them if you've got extra? I wouldn't need 100 though (God forbid I might have to use them all in that case lol), but I'd love to try maybe 25-50 if you still have extras?

I'm the same as Jamie, would love to try some as well but would only really look to get maybe 50 or so. Might use as alternative to rooting individual cuttings in coir in container. PMed!
May the Figs be with you!

How well do they stand? What kind of container is normally used to hold them?

They don't stand on their own. Just set an appropriate number in a one gallon pot or another container.

Same, I'd love 50-100 if you can spare them. Happy to pay for shipping and the effort, or arrange some trade. I remember reading about these rooting bags last year, never got around to trying them out.

Would save time poking holes all over plastic cups with a dull knife point!
