  • Fig Rootings

I have two sections of roots , photos below. Should I use coil and Clonex Gel or just coil? They’re in water and holding up, I would like to get them in a container with the suggested mix. I’m in a zone 7b , NY. Thanks.

I would pot them up into a good well draining potting mix ASAP, prune off some of the leaves since the roots may not be able to support them, keep in shade for a week or so til they seem to be recovering.

You might want to remove the leaves from the plant in the second picture. The roots can't support those leaves at this time.

I think you mean coir (coco coir).

Neither, they are already rooted. Use a well draining potting mix.

Thanks, I appreciate the assistance . I’m going to use pro-mix with pearlite to start.

I agree with eboone, Use a good mix cut off all but maybe some small top leafs and put it someone with indirect sun.

As stated above you those roots are well established so you want a well draining potting mix. Something with some pine bark mulch if possible. Coir will retain way to much water.
