  • How to re-pot cutting to large pot

How do you determine or when is a good time to re-pot cutting from plastic cup to 1 gal pot ?
Once decided to proceed, what must I do or any special attention such as watering before or after, fertilizer etc. to be carried out. Thanks

Wait until you are sure the roots are tough. Moving too soon isn't necessarily a good thing. Very mild fertilizer is ok as you can always add more in a few weeks and your not trying to feed it for the long haul.

I wait until there are a lot of roots, and a good amount have turned yellow in color. I also want some larger leaves too.

The cups I use are old pickle cups with a tight fitting lid with holes drilled in them, so they are a pretty good size. Usually 32 oz.

My main concern is can I use 50% peak moss + 50% organic potting mix as dirts in a large pot ? Also do I have to pre-water dirts well a day earlier to up potting the cutting from the plastic cup when roots are well developed ? Thanksto all......

That mix is way too heavy and water retentive. Check the reference thread for suitable mixes:

Many members have discussed and often posted their preferred mixes, the major ingredients of some are listed below for comparison to a few custom mixes...

I use 1/3 peat, 1/3 organic compost, and 1/3 vermiculite. They seem to really like it.
