  • OT: Baseboard Heating--help!

Woke up cold this morning, thermostat said 61 when we kept it at 70. We have baseboard heating, and the little flame indicates it's working, pilot light on, but the house is getting progressively cooler. Ideas? We have two temp-regulated space heaters and I just set a lobster pot of water on to boil.... But I'm worried.

Is there heat coming from the heaters and did you check your breakers?

Is a furnace? Check pilot light little flame is on. Make sure safety switch (little button behind pannel) is fully pushed in. Take panned off hold safe button down and raise heat to see if flames turn on. See if gas work off stove or anything else uses gas to ensure you gas is on.

Our neighbor figured it out--we turned off the downstairs zone so the upstairs could heat up more, then turned it down to 66, then 68. The two zones were too far apart, all the energy was going downstairs. Thank you for the input!
