When.......it is actively growing.

how often.......the way I do it is pinch, let the plant respond with now growth of at least 3 leaves and pinch again. But I am looking for more stems as more stems is more wood to sell later. I want the plants bushy. Mostly just pinch when you want growth where and how you want it.

Some folks in the northern zones pinch to aid in the development and ripening of fruit.

Last year was my first year pinching and I had fruit 3-4 weeks earlier on my Hardy Chicago.
