Very well. I shall be patient. Its tough though...I want to get an early start. I put in a massive section of garden this weekend and its got me inspired to do all kinds of projects.

I would wait, Why protect all winter and then lose your gains. Kind of like driving 99 yards and fumbling on the 1 yard line is what you are risking

Was 64F here Thursday. And expecting around foot of snow by Wednesday. I would keep potted until temps are for sure. Is much easier to bring in and out rather cover and uncover trees in ground. Just me

Brett, you could probably get away with putting them in ground. However, if/when
we have our blackberry winter which we are sure to have you may regret it. As
always we will have the cold stretch in March/April around Easter. If your trees
leaf out before then, because we will have some warm 70 degree days it could
do some harm to your trees. Maybe just kill the new green growth at the least.

Plant now in Z7b?
It's been a warm winter, and the 10 day forecast only features 2 days that drop below freezing. All my plants seem to have overwintered just fine, and are dormant. Is it too early to put some plants in the ground....say...next weekend? Or should I wait until mid/late March? I was already bold and planted some beets/kholrabi/spinach in the garden in hopes that we don't get a nasty cold snap.Tags: None
