I live in Puerto Rico, hot island, we don't have winter here. The temperature here is between high 80's to mid 90's. On very few days it can reach 75. We have a lot of sun and moderate amount of rain. What type of figs do you think better suit my conditions?

I see that PR cities range from 1 to 4 meters rainfall annually, with most around 1.5. That makes your climate 50% wetter than mine, on average. For me, leaf rust due to rain and humidity, root spoilage, wood boring beatles, and root destroying insect grubs are my top 4 problems. Long periods of overcast skies make for very slow growth near the end of the rainy season.
I recommend you get 1 each of 10 or 20 varieties and grow them for a year in 10 to 15 gallon pots. Then you will know what varieties will thrive there.
Here the varieties that have done best for me are so far are Horai, San Piero/CABT, Green Ischia and Peter's Honey. But your results will likely be different.

I live in Port Isabel/S.Padre Island, Texas which is a USDA hardiness zone 10-A. I have had 43 different cultivars and everyone of them has grown well here. Heat has never been the enemy of the fig tree. The killer is sub freezing temperatures and because you live in a zone 12 (and higher) that's not your problem. Take advantage of where you live and grow many of the varieties that require a long growing season.Rick - Port Isabel, Texas / zone - 10a
