  • So excited--3 UNK's to play with soon!

I was talking to one of our IT guys on the walk into our building this morning and it turns out his current home of 20+ years once belonged to a University of Maryland botanist! He had, at one time, 8-10 fig trees all over the property but never took care of them so only the 3 adjacent to the house have survived. I casually offered to try to help identify them (with your help of course) if he could bring me some "sticks" from each tree. You never know who may have figs!!!

I'd imagine the experts here would want some pics of the fig leaves, and maybe a description of the color, shape, and size of the figs to hone in on the possibilities. Maybe he can snap some pictures for you also.

      Very cool, Sarina.

Looking forward to pictures of the leaves and fruit.

Oh, absolutely. I'm thinking of picking one of the good rooters on the forum, sending him/her some of the cuttings, and also trying to root them myself. He's definitely going to be taking more pictures of the plants/leaves/fruit because he's curious too.
