  • Warning to eBay sellers - suggest blocking

As many know, I got scammed some last year by some folks that I reported to others on F4F as being scammers. I learned quickly the importance of blocking people who will buy from you with fraudulent intentions, opening a case and requesting a return and refund. I had it happen again yesterday from someone who clearly sent me back something different than I sent them. So he went on my blocked bidder list also.

To block someone from bidding on your auctions, go to http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin and enter their ID (the ID updates automatically if they change their ID. The new resident on my blocked list is "galloforte". I'm appealing this with eBay and providing photos, etc. I have a good paper trail, I shipped the same variety for 11 orders in a row and this guy was right in the middle, I did not mix things up but got something else in return. Sucks, but life goes on.

Also remember Karma Cugino. From great and generous person like you and you honesty to people tis guy will lose his cutting. Plus Someone i known set reminder in the phone to his user name and when some people start rooting the PT cuttings They will keep eye out for him selling on eBay and give him the same respect he gave you😉

Harvey if you have a list of all of the users you have blocked, it might be helpful to post? I can't keep track of peony and others, especially since I only sell here and there.

I thought about that but some of the ones on my list are due to personal attacks or a foreign buyer who had one or more packages not show up which I had to refund so just not worth the risk of doing business. Wills, what do you think? I'll email Wills my list to see what he thinks.

I blocked him also. If someone will do that to one person they will do it again. It is not worth the aggravation.

        I blocked him also.

Harvey, is there a way you can refuse to accept returned cuttings? I see many auctions that claim "no returns or refunds".

This is part of eBay's Buyer Protection Program, kick sellers to the curb. I think eBay figures that sellers will tolerate a bit of pain to have the access to the market. When this happened to me last year I was relentless in complaining to eBay and they covered the cost of the refunds so it did not cost me anything.

It is a shame you would have go to so much trouble just to prove you are honest.

What this guy did sounds like mail fraud to me. Since you have his address maybe you could file an injunction against him or even sue him in small claims court (Judge Judy).

What is it worth to rub this guys nose in his own poop? To me maybe $5000.

However, as an ebay trader since 1999, I have seen the pendulum swing both ways, the buyers getting screwed by bad sellers and sellers getting screwed by bad buyers. It's tuff to controll.

I think ebay could make money by offering sellers insurance. We as sellers could add the cost insurance to the S & H.

Thanks for letting us know, Harvey. I hate that this happens to good folks.

Jerry, good point. Except the buyer is claiming it's 'not as described' so I don't know if that's an exception.
