We're getting into our warmer weather here and I was wondering what would be a good mulch to use around my fig trees.
Also, does anyone use a plastic border in a circle around their fig trees in the ground to create a basin? Rose exhibitors do that for their rose bushes. It helps with hand watering (the only watering we're allowed here now) and keeps the mulch inside and the weeds and grass outside. I guess you could haul bricks and make a border/basin with them but that sounds like a lot of work. A soil border around the tree wears down pretty fast over time. What do you do for a basin for your trees in the ground?
