  • Bill's Figs Spring/Summer 2016 Schedule

Bill Muzychko of "Bill's Figs" here in NJ has distributed his schedule for classes and events for the first half of 2016.

Bill also gives pruning classes in the fall, and he has his annual "Fig Fest" in September.
His potted trees are truly something to behold.

Thanks for the schedule. I should really try to make my way out there this year.

The Fig Fest sounds interesting. Do they let you sample various varieties during that?

I've been to two fig fests so far. There were bags of recently-harvested ripe figs available for purchase at both. And at the most recent one they were also selling frozen figs that had been harvested days/weeks prior. They were mixed bags, so you get what you get, nothing is labeled. (Note -- when I say "sell" I should clarify that the purchase price is actually donated to a charity -- MS specifically.)
On top of the fresh figs, there are other fig foods brought out as well...fig-focaccia pizza, figs w/ proscuitto and other fig finger foods, various fig spreads, fig cupcakes, fig ice cream.
Bill also sells small potted trees (e.g. 1, 2 and 3 yr trees) and his SIP containers at this event.
But the best part is that you get to roam around his property and gawk at all the huge, potted trees...;-)
