I have little info on this cultivar. I came by some cuttings from Rafed by way of Wills 2-3 years ago. This is the first year it has shown good activity. Can't wait to see what turns up. If anyone has info on this, please post.

All I know is that Rafed likes it. Congratulations on getting fruit!

It is a very interesting looking fig Frank. Mottled on the exterior, the two tone interior, the center looks like a jar of jelly. I think you just put this one on everyone's radar as one to collect.

Wow. Interesting fig. Does it seem like a splitter?

So far no splitting, but we haven't have any deluges this year so far.

Very nice. Does it seem like a slow grower? Does it have a taste of honeydew melon?

It took off after its 2nd year. Taste? It did in fact have a melon like flavor now that I think about it.

It looks like it had the color sucked right out of it, lol. Is that really what it looks like? Or did ya use a filter, Frank?

Might be the lighting but I don't use filters for my fig photos, Ross.

To FMD and anyone else that has tasted this one. Can you describe the flavor at all? Perhaps similar to a caramel raisin/prune/date flavor??

This is the one Rafed thought might need the wasp but doesn't So I will blame Frank for my mixing it up with the Red Libya. It really is very good.

Yep. I have a personal rule that I don't change names so came to me as Unk Iraqi so that is what I sold it as.

I could not see seeds in the pictures. Is it seedless? Are the seeds just very small?

                          Definitely delicious.

Is it better than Kadota and Italian Golden Honey?
