    Also many pruning saws...
The 10" pull saw cuts larger caliper branches much easier compared to my Ars18 pruning saw.

Same concept is used in fine wood craftsmanship. There it is called a backsaw.

I agree with the pull saws. They lit you use your strength on the pullcut and do the job. I've used them for years just not a harbor freight one.

What Pete posted. Harbor Freight generally sells crap, except for this.

Like night and day, Tony. It is called a pull saw because it does most of the cutting on the pull. The teeth are configured to cut deeply with minimal effort.

You're a better man than I am if you're cutting 8" trunks with a hand saw. It would take me 3 growing seasons to get 1 tree down.

    Fmd,
Where can you get it for $10? EBay sells for $20 plus.
    Thanks,

Does this have any advantages over a regular handsaw, which I use quite a bit?

started a topic OT: Extolling the Japanese pull saw

OT: Extolling the Japanese pull saw

If anyone needs to cut down tree branches of almost any size and does not have a pull saw, you are missing out. This little $10 gem has cut down a ton of wood for me over the course of a few years. It cuts quickly and easily and safely. There is little chance of cutting off the tip of your finger with this gas and electric free gadget. I don't know about Hershell though.
