  • I-258 2016 Breba

    Finally!

First ripe fig of the season is this I-258 breba and it was delicious or maybe it was just the first fig. Who knows but it was good. It is in a
15 gal pot with ProMix HP. It had tones of
sweet berry but not two sweet. The skin was a little
chewy but not to tough. There was no seed crunch. I gave it a high 8 on a 1-10 which is pretty good for the first fig. Click image for larger version

Great looking fig and great description. And the photos really give a good feel for the fig - skin and shape, eye and interior. Nice work.

That looks good, is it normally a good producer of brebas?

Ryan, it hasn't in its first three years. One last year and this year.

Nice picture! My one I-258 breba is still rock hard. It's a second year tree planted in the ground so can't complain.

Looks great, and thanks for posting. I ordered two I-258 plants this year and I can't wait until I can try them.

This is the second breba from this tree and was knocked off a couple days to soon even with an organza
bag on it. It is a really nice looking fig and was pretty good anyway. It was not as sweet as the first one
                                but I will still give it a 7 on a 1-10 scale.
