  • Re Kadota

I am thinking to buy 2 gal Kadota, but I have heard some negative responds about this Kadota such as tough skin, slow fruit, fair taste etc. Any further commend by return will be much appreciated.

I purchased a 2/3 gal kadota from Lowe's last year. This year it has grown 3-5 times in size and is loading up with figs. Can post pics if wanted.

Sorry this is so late. This 2015 Kadota from Lowe's was 3 feet tall when it went in ground late last spring. It survived the winter unprotected. It is now loaded with figs.

Pete, I'll check tomorrow for pink eyes. Is CBT any good?

IMO, California Brown Turkey is one of the better types when it comes to flavor, but it needs a warmer and drier location than mine to produce at its best. Black Jack is also in the same group / type.

I just checked and the eyes are red/pink. Guess it is CBT. On a positive note I have always want a Blackjack fig tree.

Darn, folks believe my Alma is Celeste, White Texas Everbearing is Alma and now the Kadota a CBT.

I wonder what my store bought BT And Celeste really is?

      All this is so disappointing.
