Thanks for the pics newnandawg. Really helpful to those starting out. I hope most of you do the same this year!
Side note: I see you've got a lot of Etna types. Which one is your favorite?Zone 7A - Philadelphia

Happy to post them Ross. There wasnt a lot of info out there when I started my collection and
I thought doing this would help others. At the end of the season I may put together a chart showng
this which will help with selection based on type, fruiting date, flavors and my unbiased opinion
on taste. LOL
Its hard for me to pick just one Mt Etna fig as a favorite. I like them all a lot. With the exception of
a few green/white figs they are certainly my favorites.Last edited by newnandawg; 07-17-2016, 10:50 AM.newnandawg 7b Newnan, GA

Looks very tasty. However, is there a consensus that St. Rita is a Mt. Etna type? I was thinking it is different although there are similarities and fig size and flavor group.
It's amazing you are already getting main crop fruit from you St. Rita in zone 7b. Here in zone 7a I am not even close to getting main crop from my St. Rita that is in a container!Steve

Steve, I am right on the line for 7b/8a. Some years we act like 7b others 8a. This year was an 8a year with mild winter
and early warm/hot spring. This summer has been brutal with 35 days over 90 degrees already and looking at upper 90's
this week. We are also in a drought at 7.50 inches of rain below normal already since March.newnandawg 7b Newnan, GA

Here in Z6 St Rita can vary. The first year fruiting it was one of the best figs I've ever had. The next 2 years it didn't fruit and last year they were tasteless. Here's hoping for better this yearBob C.
