  • "Gnat-nix"

I was out getting a sack of potting soil today and got chatting with the guy at the grow store. He recommended a product called "Gnat-nix" for those pesky fungus gnats. It's a top dressing made of recycled glass, about the size of coarse sand. It is supposed to help prevent fungus gnat problems. I know a lot of you use Gnatrol, but when possible, I prefer to stay away from pesticides. Has anyone tried this stuff? Does it work?

I noticed that gnats avoid my mix with the Napa floor dry, it has a faint hydrocarbon odor.

No, I have not tried the Gnat-nix, had no need.
