  • OT: Red Spanish Pineapple

    Hi I'm new to the group i grow many different Varieties of Pineapple Plants but i wanted to share one of them its called Red Spanish it flowered about
    a month ago its getting big so fast it should be ready around ThanksGiving Nov. Let me know what you think

    It looks fantastic! What does the flesh look like, good flavor?

    Where do you live?

      Hi this is the first time for me growing Red Spanish pineapple so not sure what the flesh looks like but the guy who sold me the pups last summer said they taste really good to him very sweet... but online it says (pale yellow flesh with pleasant aroma. Fruit have a squarish shape)

    Sounds like it will be a winner.

    I couldn't see a pot, it looks like it might be in ground is why I asked were you are. I figured Hi or FL, I've grown Pineapple's in CO before, problem is the one plants just get to big, take up to much space. And are a pain to move in and out.

    Keep us posted when harvest time comes.

      Hi again well i grow all my pineapple plants in pots but this summer i planted around 6 of them in the ground to see how well they do so far so good

    Awesome! How long do pineapple take to mature? I'm curious if any of us that have a long growing season but still a real winter could grow them.

      Well Red Spanish about 4 months others could take around 6 to 8 months... Anyone can grow pineapple plant outdoors or indoors they grow really good indoors in Pots
