I've got a few trees if anyone is interested

Two - 5 gallon Valoze - Just split up the tree today
One - 2 gallon Valoze from the same tree
        One - 2 gallon Sultane

I have some more 1/2 and 1 gallon trees coming. Cvetko, Smith, Black Sicilian..... Maybe Sumaki & Texas EB as well...

Valoze I can't tell you much about either... Pino swears by it... this s the first year for it fruiting for me

Sultane is well documented here on the forum. Also here: https://frenchfigfarm.com/fig-trees/sultane

@angela - No problem.... I'll find a nice juicy one tomorrow and put your name on it... I'll get quantities on everything else as well.

My RdB returned from the dead and this year is already fruiting

Joe - I was just looking at my fig trees and my Cvetko is alive! It has two little green buds. So it looks like I'm good and I don't need the Cvetko from you.

It is Desert king varieties, Tree was too young and grow too fast with only few figs, It has many figs this year for fair compare with DK figs.

If BC Byron do not mind the hassle, I can give him 3 FT tree, and he can pass it to you.

Rickyv101 BC BYRON thanks a lot ! from the picture, the fig looks much more red-dark than DK, more like a verte; the DK figs I have seen locally are more like pink, or whitish-red.

          • #38
Well ricky that mature fruit guy posted looks pretty nice. I hope it gives you a comparable breba to Desert king and ripe main crop without the wasp.

Before I bought this tree, Seller offered tasting on figs, not sure how fresh that fig, I still think that mature Desert king fig taste sweeter.

Adriano's Desert King (2 crops) , Hope to find its cuttings

I bought a so called Dauphine here at Raintree nursery. It is a green fig just like Desert King but has 2 crops which ripen reliably atleast in a pot. Perhaps it is the same variety that Adriano sells?

I thought I would offer to the Canadian side first.

To start I have a couple of Drap D'Or rooted cuttings.

The cuttings came from my friends mother tree which will fruit this year but the source is a well respected Ourfigs member and has fruited for him and is true to type.

I have Robert Golden Rainbow to trade for I-258, i do believe it is an Yellow Long Neck, the cutting (not cut yet) is still half lignified and green, i have 2 cuttings testing in water and coco coir to see if it work, till now, 2 weeks, it not rot and the one in water show good sign of root so i think it viable. If you are interested, PM me.

                          I'm in Montreal, Quebec.

How are plants/cuttings being packed & shipped? I have a few plants in 1 gal pots but worry shipping would be more than their value.

I recently had a 1 gallon and three half gallon shipped from back east for under 30 dollars. You can tie bag around pot to keep soil in place and tape some stakes around pot to protect in case inverted. Cuttings can be dipped in a bleach solution, dried and ends dipped in wax then wrapped in saran and in a ziplock. You can store in your crisper like this for many months

BTW nice to see another islander on here
